R.O.A.R Therapy Website Redesign
Role: Visual Designer/ UX Designer | Duration: 3 weeks

Project Overview

The owner of R.O.A.R Therapy hired me to completely redesign her website from scratch.
I was tasked with taking what was originally a one-page simplistic website and turning it into a multipage site that highlighted the communities she serves, her therapeutic specialties, and reflected the message of inner power, serenity, and nature that was the core of her therapy practice.

Original Website
I first started by doing a heuristic evaluation of the original R.O.A.R Therapy website. I used six of the Nielsen Norman usability heuristics to help me evaluate some of the strengths and weaknesses of the original website.
I found that the original website had clear language, nicely matched header and body fonts, and straightforward layout.
The weaknesses of the website mostly lay in the
-
Information hierarchy
-
Inconsistency in when fonts are headings, subheadings, or body text
-
Accessibility being up to WCAG standards
-
Responsiveness
-
Wordiness

After going through the original website, I met with the owner to get into detail about what she wanted to see on the website.
Through this meeting, I could map out each page that was needed and what elements would be on their respective page.
